Yasmine Zahedi

Yasmine Zahedi began her continuous years of Iranian folk and contemporary dance instructions in spring of 2005. Truly passionate about Iranian dance, Yasmine aims to showcase the beautiful and rich movement vocabulary of Iran’s traditional, ritualistic and folk dance movements adorned with a contemporary approach. Since 2008, she has performed as a member of Gisoo Dance group and also as an independent dance artist in numerous cultural and artistic events, including the 2010 Masala! Mehndi! Masti! festival at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre (A collaboration with Odissi choreographer, Paromita Kar), 2010 Women in Dance at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts and the Iranian Heritage Day at The Royal Ontario Museum 2011, 2012 and 2013. Yasmine also collaborated with choreographer Fethi Karakecili for Mem u Zin, performed at Isabel Bader Theatre in 2011 and also for Dilan Dance Company’s presentation for Vision TV.
