Sepideh Raissadat, Kiya Tabassian & Ensemble
This concert is an initiatory journey into various traditions and periods of Persian music. Based on the latest musical researches, Sepideh Raissadat, KiyaTabassian and their colleagues will revisit some of the most interesting and most beautiful of rediscovered treasures of the Persian classical music from Safavid period. This repertoire sheds light on Persian Magham music (prior to the Dastgâh system) and rebuilds the broken bridges with our contemporary repertoire of Radif. Beside these masterpieces, new compositions in different Magham will be performed. To represent the great heritage and also the aliveness of the Persian culture, poems from poet masters of the passed and contemporary poets will be song into these melodies of the passed and the present.
