Ehsan Kiabakhsh

Ehsan Kiabakhsh was born in 1982 in Tehran, Iran. In 1999, he moved to Toronto and began pursuing his passion in painting. He graduated in 2012 from Ontario College of Art and Design University’s drawing and painting program. He is a multi-disciplinary artist whose works have been shown in numerous galleries and exhibitions in Toronto. His projects center on the concept of identity and its changing fluid nature due to changes in space and time. While not necessarily speaking directly about immigration in his artworks, he expresses the changing effects of immigration on his own identity as an artist. He recently decided to re-experience living in Iran; Experiencing the creation of a new artistic identity through engaging with the Iranian society and its artistic community.
